GURUGRAM: Exam rigidity impacts round 65% scholars of government-run faculties in Gurgaon, in step with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), which carried out a state-wide survey on examination rigidity all the way through November-December 2017. The results of the survey were released on Friday.
The survey is part of a bigger survey on teens in the state, whose results are anticipated to be released next month. It consisted of four parts — normal information about the children, their households and backgrounds, demanding situations they face whilst growing up (which incorporates examination rigidity) and their knowledge of HIV, medication and sexual harassment. SCERT officials said the survey was carried out to understand what youngsters were doing, what they were pondering and studying, and what government may do to fortify their lives.

Carried out in 119 blocks in Gurgaon, 33,660 scholars — 14,467 boys and 19,193 girls — were given questionnaires to fill for the survey. Asked in the event that they knew about rigidity, 72% said ‘sure’, 25% said ‘no’ and 4% gave no reaction. Around 19% were from urban backgrounds, while round 81% hailed from rural areas.
Speaking about the survey, SCERT director Jyoti Choudhary said, “There is immense rigidity amongst scholars today. Parents are giving rigidity to youngsters. They don’t give them breaks between research. Gaps in the teaching-learning process aren't being crammed. Parents handiest tend to criticise faculties, but don’t care if their youngsters are studying effectively.”
To beat rigidity, maximum scholars favor being attentive to tune. Around 64% of students in Gurgaon concentrate to tune to beat rigidity, whilst the number was 65% in Faridabad. Some preferred to do other issues to care for rigidity — in all the state, round 55% enjoyed being attentive to tune, 25% read books and 20% preferred to play.
