Belagavi: Four members of a circle of relatives and their motive force died on the spot and 13 were injured after their multi-utility car collided with a KSRTC bus near a canal at Adahalli village in the district’s Athani taluk on Saturday evening.
The deceased were amongst a bunch that was going to Avarkhod village in Athani taluk to wait the ultimate rites of a circle of relatives member.
Police said four of the deceased were from the Jadhav circle of relatives of Athani taluk’s Kakamari village — Radhabai Vittal, 50, Archana Annappa, 40, Annappa Subray, 42 and Ravi Srikant, 12. Driver Gaurav Gopal Pol, 40, was also from the similar village.
The injured were rushed to an Athani sanatorium, and the situation of 2 persons is claimed to be vital. The Athani-Bannur bus collided with the car near Government Hospital at Adahalli, a police officer said.
