Hubballi: The Hubballi-Ankola Broad Gauge Railway Santrastara Horata Samiti, Kalaghatagi, has demanded that the family members of land losers of the undertaking be given govt jobs. It determined to stage a dharna in entrance of the Kalaghatagi tahsildar’s administrative center on Monday.
Samiti vice-president S N Upadhya instructed reporters right here on Saturday that as in step with the Supreme Court direction, the land losers will have to be given repayment for parting away with their land.
He also demanded filling up of lakes of Kalghatgi taluk with the water of Kali river. “Like the lakes in Haliyal taluk in Uttara Kannada district have been stuffed up with Kali water, the lakes in drought-hit Kalghatgi taluk will have to also be stuffed up. There is serious shortage of drinking water for humans and animals in the taluk,” he stated.
The Samiti also demanded that the cash and gold that the people misplaced in the type of deposits made with Khasnis brothers be recovered and given back to the losers. Samiti president Suvarna G Kulkarni used to be present on the news conference.
