Drain still not widened, brace for Gurujam rerun

GURUGRAM: The widening work of the stretch of Badshapur drain that passes thru Khandsa village is unlikely to be finished earlier than the monsoon season. This is because Huda has now not but in a position to get the ownership of land required for drain widening due to the extend in rehabilitation of oustees.
Huda had in August 2017 allotted selection plots in Sector 37C to 35 oustees of Khandsa village, whose properties had been coming in the way of drain widening. But due to variation in the plot dimension in layout plan, the physical ownership of the plots could now not be given. The six marla plots had been proven as 4 marla in the layout plan due to which oustees had been alloted plot larger than they had been eligible for.

The mistake came to gentle in September 2017 and Huda quickly stopped giving physical ownership of the plots. It took about six months to make correction in the layout plan and reschedule the allotment.

Huda conducted a fresh draw of lot few days again to give selection plots to the oustees.

“We have allotted selection plots to each oustees, except for 4. The closing 4 oustees will likely be allotted selection plots quickly,” Huda administrator Yashpal Yadav advised TOI on Tuesday.

“Some 18 structures had been got rid of in August 2017 and the remainder structures will likely be got rid of on the earliest for the widening of the drain,” he added.

Dalchand and Jogender Singh, who are some of the 4 but to get selection plots, mentioned even after you have physical ownership of different plots, they would want no less than six month to relocate after establishing a space on the land. “We will vacate our houses in Khandsa village best after development of our new properties,” mentioned Singh.

After the Gurujam in July 2016, due to waterlogging at Hero Honda Chowk, the state government had announced the widening of the Badshapur drain passing thru Khandsa village to extend its carrying capability.

The 39.96km long and 30m huge Badshapur drain, which starts from Ghata and empties into Najafgarh drain, narrows all the way down to 10m at Khandsa, reducing its carrying capability from 1,200 cusec to only 500 cusec. In sure spaces in Khandsa, the channel becomes as slender as 4-5m, combating water, which flows into the drain from all parts of town, to cross thru on the anticipated pace, inflicting waterlogging.
