COIMBATORE: A fire broke out in a waste cotton godown on the Kalapatti Road right here on Thursday. The hearth broke out within the godown of Chandra Textiles round three.30pm, police mentioned.
On being informed, hearth and rescue products and services staff rushed to the spot with three hearth tenders. They were nonetheless trying to put out the fireplace when this report was filed (at 7.30pm).
Peelamedu hearth station officer Senthil Kumar mentioned they were yet to establish the reason for the blaze.
In his grievance, the owner of the godown mentioned waste cotton value round Rs 1 crore was gutted. The godown had 1,500 tonne of waste cotton, he mentioned.
