KANPUR: Unidentified assailants shot useless the brother of a BJP chief at his farm overdue on Wednesday in Singhpur house of Banda district.
Bisanda SHO Prakash Yadav informed reporters that the deceased has been known as Rakesh Tiwari, the more youthful brother of BJP chief Awdhesh Tiwari.
Rakesh has long gone to his farmland close to his area to protect the crop from farm animals, police said.
The officer said that the assailants shot Tiwari in the head and stabbed him with sharp-edged guns. Tiwari died at the spot.
After getting the information about the murder, the police reached the spot and despatched the body for autopsy.
Awdhesh Tiwari, a former head of Singhpur department, said that his brother didn't have enmity with anyone.
A case has been registered at Bisanda police station on this regard and additional investigation is underway.
