Virbhadra Singh, wife among accused in disproportionate assets case

NEW DELHI: Former Himachal Pradesh leader minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha had been named some of the accused in a disproportionate property case, news agency ANI has reported.

The supplementary charge-sheet in the cash laundering case was once filed by means of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi's Patiala House court, after special judge Santosh Snehi Mann's January 22 direction.

The ED had previous filed a charge sheet in opposition to Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) agent Anand Chauhan in the case. It had informed the court that the investigation in opposition to the other accused was once ongoing.


Chauhan, who was once arrested on July 9, 2016, under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, was once granted bail on January 2 this yr.


In a separate case filed by means of the CBI in the subject, Singh, his wife and Chauhan were chargesheeted at the side of others.


The CBI had claimed that Singh had collected property value around Rs 10 crore, which were disproportionate to his overall income throughout his tenure as a Union minister.
