GURUGRAM: Around 300 individuals — between the ages of 16 and 40 years — who won a sports tournament at the ‘Khel Mahakumbh’, have complained about now not receiving the promised prize cash.
The pageant used to be organised in September 2017 at district and state ranges by the directorate of sports. At the district level, 22 occasions had been held, in which avid gamers participated below person and staff categories. The 22 occasions included archery, athletics, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, handball, hockey, kabaddi, kho-kho, wrestling, boxing, judo, badminton, desk tennis, netball, volleyball, swimming, lawn tennis, weight lifting, wushu, kabadi and tug-of-war.
The district sports division used to be supposed to praise sportspersons who secured first, 2nd and third places in the match with some quantity as prize cash, however to this point, none of the winners have gained any. When TOI contacted the department, the organisers said that they had now not been supplied full details of the winners, which is why the prize cash couldn’t be transferred to their accounts.
Bhupinder Yadav, winner in the archery tournament, said, “What’s the purpose of winning a medal? The tournament happened in November and I haven’t even got a certificates for it. I’d given my checking account details to organisers, and nonetheless the promised quantity hasn’t been transfered.”
“Right now, the department is in the process of recording the names, checking account numbers, Aadhaar numbers, and so forth., of all avid gamers. Information is being sought from those avid gamers who've now not furnished their full details. The process might be completed soon and in the coming weeks, the winners gets their dues,” said Paras Ram, district sports officer.
