TIRUPUR: All the five accused in the case in which a dalit girl and her 19-year-old daughter were pressured to fall at the ft of other folks belonging to the Gounder community in Kangeyam have acquired anticipatory bail. The Madras prime courtroom has directed them to signal the sign up at the Kangeyam police station two times an afternoon.
On the first week of February, a goat owned through S Devi, belonged to the Arunthathiyar community, has strayed into the land of Sarasu, a Gounder community girl in Theerthampalayam. Following the incident, Gounders allegedly convened a kangaroo courtroom on February 15 and forced Devi and her daughter to fall at their ft of the Gounders in the house, in front of her husband and son.
Kangeyam police booked Sarasu, Sekar, Manohar, Kavin and Senthil, all belonged to the Gounder community in Shanmugampalayam, under Sections together with 294 (b) and 323 of IPC, and the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (prevention of atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015.
“Police did not arrest the accused and also failed to prevent them from getting the anticipatory bail. They must behavior an in depth inquiry and take action in opposition to the accused,” R Kavi of Puratchikara Ilaignar Munnani demanded.
