Coimbatore: Acute scarcity of river sand has dealt a blow to sand truck operators. Owners of sand vehicles stated they have been driven to promote their cars as they may no longer pay EMI as they had no industry because of sand scarcity.

Mani stated, “Several M-sand manufacturers do not wash the sand properly, which makes it incorrect for building use.”
