AHMEDABAD: An Indian Air Force serviceman, posted at Jamnagar airbase, was once robbed at knife point close to the Fatehwadi canal in Juhapura area of the city.
He lost valuables worth around Rs 19,000 to three unknown individuals who pretended to be an auto-rickshaw motive force and passengers past due on Monday night time.
The robbers even took the airman’s identity card and liquor permit.
The airman, recognized as Hemantkumar Vyas from Madhya Pradesh, is serving as a leading aircraftman in the IAF. He had come to Ahmedabad for remedy of a pores and skin disease on the Army Hospital in Shahibaug. On Monday night time, he reached Kalupur from the place he was once intended to head towards Paldi.
He enquired about going to Paldi and a rickshaw motive force instructed him to get into the rickshaw, which already had two passengers in it. The motive force started driving towards Paldi however after a very long time he learned they had been at a secluded spot close to the Fatehwadi canal.
When Vyas inquired about it, the motive force stated that he had to drop the other passengers. Soon, two passengers and the motive force grabbed him and started tough money from him at knife point.
Vyas resisted however was once overpowered him and robbed. He lost cash, his identity card, liquor permit and a bag through which he had positive essential documents. The ariman then approached police. He didn't set up to get the registration collection of the rickshaw because of the darkness.
