Bangladesh President winds up visit to northeast

GUWAHATI: Bangladesh President Md. Abdul Hamid on Saturday wound up his talk over with to India's northeast on a nostalgic observe.
In his departing remarks, Hamid mentioned the three-day talk over with to Assam and Meghalaya used to be very nostalgic for him as he came to this a part of the northeast throughout the Bangladesh Liberation War.

"I have visited Balat, Shillong and Meghalaya and I was very glad to see these places," the Bangladesh President mentioned.

During the talk over with, Hamid used to be accompanied by means of his spouse Rashida Khanam and different family members excluding the professional delegation.


He left for New Delhi from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport here on Saturday afternoon.


Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal were present at the airport to see off the President.


Hamid also prolonged invitation to Mukhi and Sonowal to talk over with Bangladesh.


He mentioned relationship with neighbours is essential for building and their talk over with would bolster the same. He also noticed that peace and tranquillity in the region would lead to sooner building.
