BJP slams move to transfer Belagavi top cop

Belagavi: The switch proposal of Belagavi city police commissioner DC Rajappa has raised some eyebrows with the BJP asking the government if the premature switch is related to his caste.
The state govt has asked the Election Commission’s approval to switch Rajappa, who took price just 3 months in the past. Belagavi MP Suresh Angadi alleged that the government is transfering him as a result of he belongs to the Lingayat neighborhood.

Angadi mentioned the government fears that since he’s a Lingayat, he would possibly create issues for the Congress all through the elections. There’s also a transfer to derail the inquiry towards illegal slaughterhouses in Auto Nagar. He alleged the hand of CM Siddaramaiah and adviser to house minister Kempaiah at the back of the proposed switch, and advised its speedy cancellation.

Maneka Gandhi, Union minister for women and kid building who visited the illegal cold storage units on March 1, had alleged that Rajappa behaved irresponsibly along with her while talking at the telephone and he would face motion for it. Angadi mentioned he heard that the commissioner had already apologized to Maneka Gandhi at JN Medical College and the issue were resolved. Rajappa clarified: “The DC and I had gone to JN Medical College to explain the placement to the minister.” However, he declined to talk about Angadi’s comments.

‘Lingayat advice a gimmick’

Suresh Angadi mentioned giving spiritual minority status to Lingayats is a poll gimmick of the Congress, and the advice despatched to the central govt is unsuitable. He mentioned the UPA govt had previous rejected the advice. City BJP president Rajendra Harkuni, district party in-charge Iranna Kadadi, city early life president Rajiv Topannavar, medical cell president Dr Ravi Patil had been present.
