Governor Ram Naik wants plays on Shivaji to be staged in Noida

NOIDA: Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik stated on Thursday that the work of Marathi playwright Babasaheb Purandare, ‘Raja Shiv Chhatrapati’ should be staged in Noida, Lucknow and Varanasi.
The governor used to be speaking at a function to celebrate the works of 96-year-old Purandare at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, Sector 6 on Thursday.


The function used to be organised by contributors of RWA federation and Motherland International Foundation.


Purandare's noted biography of Shivaji, the 17th century founder of Maratha empire, in Marathi, used to be later converted to a drama/play titled Raja Shiv Chatrapati. The play is slated to be staged in Hindi at the Red Fort from April 6-10.


The governor stated that Shivaji used to be lauded for his administrative wisdom and talent, vision, magnanimity, anti-nepotism in governance, intelligence network, zero tolerance in opposition to corruption, monetary steadiness, environment and justice. “All those are relevent learnings for provide occasions,” he stated.


Unoin minister Mahesh Sharma presided at the function.
