NF Railway determined to get an all-women gang as there was an increase in demand for repairs of the incoming coaches within the pit line at coach repairs depot.
“Twenty girls of technician grade have been selected within the depot as a pilot they usually were given classroom training over the more than a few concepts of repairs keen on a train in pit strains. After the theoretical training, the batch was given hands-on practical training at pit line with the prevailing technicians. The depot has a coach maintaining of about 1300 and its actions are unfold over Kamakhya, Paltan Bazaar and New Guwahati in Guwahati with a complete of six pit strains and two unwell strains and a body of workers of about 1000 technicians. Out of these, about 200 are girls.
