UDHAGAMANDALAM: Naib subedar G Laxmanan from the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington got here first within the Dakshin Bharath Area Cross Country Championship 2018 held at Thangaraj Stadium within the centre near Coonoor within the Nilgiris on Wednesday.
Laxmanan clocked the best timing of 31.56 mins within the 10km run throughout the picturesque path within the hills. A complete of 9 teams with each comprising six other people took part within the run. Havildar B Srinu of Madras Engineering Group and Centre and sepoy Lingaraj of the MRC got here 2nd and 3rd by clocking 32.48 mins and 32.56 mins respectively.
Brigadier SK Sangwan, VSM, commandant, MRC, presided over the function and disbursed the prizes to the profitable teams and the people.
