Chennai: The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) will introduce Global Positioning System (GPS) facility with a couple of further options like sensible cards and electronic ticketing machines (ETM) as part of Intelligent Transport System (ITS), when the government supplies new buses. These new buses could have integrated facility for putting in the GPS.

The ITS could have a GPS linked to an app, sensible cards, electronic ticketing machines on the buses which may make shuttle more straightforward for the commuters. The GPS will help the commuters to track the buses and get details about bus routes, fare, and arrival and departure timings as the guidelines might be provided through an advanced cellular software.
