CHENNAI: The farmers of Boduvarpatti in Dindigul district were stunned after they noticed the reimbursement cheques issued by way of the Dindigul Central Cooperative Bank Ltd remaining month to relieve farm distress. The DMK MLA waved a few extra cheque leaves, that of Kumaravel, every other farmer, who were given Rs 10 for his 1.11 cent and his pal, Kanakaraj, who received a cheque for Rs 7 for zero.74 cent. Agriculture minister R Doraikkannu stated the state was giving utmost precedence to farmers’ welfare. Tamil Nadu were given Rs 523 crore provided as state’s proportion of top rate subsidy underneath crop insurance. Cooperative minister Sellur Okay Raju admitted there were some lapses in districts like Dindigul and Nagapattinam. “We have directed the district creditors to find out what went fallacious,” he stated.
