Western Railway's Matunga Road station to have all-women staff from March 8

MUMBAI: Matunga Road station on Western Railway will transform the second railway station in Mumbai to have all-women workforce from March 8, which is venerated as International Women’s day.
Central Railway’s Matunga station is the first station on Indian Railways to be manned through women folk personnel.

WR’s chief public members of the family officer Ravinder Bhakar mentioned, “We have posted a total of 31 women folk personnel as frontline workforce from commercial, running and safety department.”

Commercial department has deployed 13 commercial clerks and three Ticket checking workforce to adopt commercial activities while 11 Operating workforce (Station Master and Points person) and 4 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed at Matunga Road Station.


Central Railway too will commemorate the ladies’s day deploying all women folk Ticket checking workforce on Koyna Express and Deccan Queen from March 8.


CR’s divisional railway supervisor SK Jain mentioned, “Apart from this, all women folk staff will run the Mumbai Pune Deccan Queen on March 8. The loco pilot will probably be Surekha Yadava and assistant loco pilot will probably be Trushna Joshi and the guard Shweta Ghone. “


CR’s chief public members of the family officer Sunil Udasi mentioned, “General supervisor DK Sharma has requested all of the divisions under CR zone to spot one station the place all-women workforce can also be deputed.


Jain mentioned, “We may even upgrade facilities for ladies workforce at more than a few stations, together with LTT.”
