HYDERABAD: Soon, the city’s premier universities — Osmania University (OU), University of Hyderabad (UoH), and English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) — may have, on-board, foreign college from institutes internationally. This, courtesy the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) latest determination to grant full autonomy to those 3 varsities.
Elated with the verdict, university officers said that this standing would not only upload extra weight to their logo but also assist in attracting just right teaching ability. Incidentally, EFLU and UoH are the one central universities from south India that have full autonomy.
“Now, the school gets a possibility to rent native speakers for all of its foreign language classes. We will get started this process very quickly and in addition inaugurate an University Finishing School to provide skill-based coaching to scholars. The university could also be planning to start on-line course through its open schooling resource programme,” said Suresh Kumar E, vice-chancellor, EFLU.
At OU too, which is in its centenary 12 months, authorities are gearing up to roll out a sequence of projects. “The autonomy standing will give flexibility to the university in this globally aggressive international. Authorities are in dialogue with departments, centres and faculty on how very best the autonomy can be carried out,” said Gopal Reddy Ch, registrar, OU.
Reacting to the consideration, UoH vice-chancellor, Appa Rao Podile said that the brand new popularity will function an incentive to paintings harder to reach global benchmarks of excellence in schooling. “I am acutely aware that this higher autonomy comes with the load of duties and expectations...No doubt there’ll be challenges ahead, together with mobilising assets, offering aggressive programmes and attracting instructional ability, whilst not losing sight of the general public university’s social duties and dedication to social justice and fairness,” he said.
