CUDDALORE: As many as 73 people, including six kids and 14 ladies took sick after consuming 'prasadam' at a temple in the district on Monday, police mentioned.
The devotees took 'Sambar' rice presented at Amman temple in V Sathamangalam village as part of a pageant, they mentioned.
Soon after, they complained of giddiness and vomiting and have been taken to the federal government hospital at Virudachalam close to right here.
Virudachalam Revenue Divisional Officer S Chandra, visited the hospital.
Meanwhile, the devotees alleged that a dead lizard used to be discovered in the rice served to them.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, police mentioned.
