NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old allegedly dedicated suicide by striking herself at her space in outer Delhi’s Bakhtawarpur village. The incident comes five days after the girl’s boyfriend, Akash, killed himself after his marriage proposal was allegedly rejected by the girl’s father.
According to the police, the sufferer was identified as Alka and an inquest under Section 174 of the CrPC has been initiated within the case. Her frame was despatched in for post-mortem to establish the exact reason behind death.
Alka’s father found her striking by the ceiling fan on Sunday morning. A scholar of Class XII in a central authority college, Alka left a suicide be aware, which was confiscated by the police for additional investigation.
“By the time we got her down, she had lost consciousness,” the sufferer’s brother, Gautam, said, adding that her sister had also tried suicide on the day Akash (26) had killed himself. He used to work as a DJ.

“We had been okay with the connection but the boy’s circle of relatives didn’t agree to it,” Alka’s mother instructed cops. However, contradicting the claims, Akash’s father Sukhram said that he had agreed to the proposal since his son was insistent on marrying Alka.
“I approached the girl’s father however he refused the proposal and said he would kill my son after which shoot his daughter as well. On Monday evening, I attempted to convince my son to forget about Alka. Later, they each spoke to one another on the telephone and my son killed himself,” Sukhram said, adding that his son was roughed up by the girl’s father and brother prior to now when he tried to satisfy her.
The suicide be aware has been despatched in for forensic examination to establish its authenticity. Cops are also probing the collection of events leading up to the suicide.
