Kanu Priya, the director of the play, mentioned, “One of the most important challenges that I confronted was that I had to reduce brief the period of the play from two-and-a-half hours to round one-and-a-half hours. Another problem was that the unique play is about in New York in the 12 months 1988 and speaks of underlying sexism and patriarchy that was prevalent at that time. So, we took nearly a month to contemporarise and turn into it to fit the taste of the trendy Indian target audience, making the women in our play extra vital than being simply props.”

She added, “I took a cue from the elite households of Noida and Delhi, who stay in villas, personal farmhouses and hail from a political background. The best possible part about functioning at one of the most prime places of Noida's on a Saturday night was that it drew the right kind of target audience, those that understand and appreciate theatre. We have performed throughout NCR however the most productive part about Noida target audience is that it's evolving and steadily opening up to theatre. Noidawallahs are well-read, receptive to new concepts and quite inquisitive as an target audience.”

Who is the offender?

Ojaswini Gul, who performed the character of Neeta Juneja, an elite Delhi socialite, mentioned, “My character is whiny, self-obsessed, at all times frightened about her looks, however she is also sharp, intelligent and cook up superb stories. The interesting part was that the play spoke of all issues quintessentially Delhi – there were clothier clothes, Belgian wine glasses and numerous showing off. I totally loved playing my character as I realised that after we gossip or stereotype people, we merely reduce them to caricatures however there are extra layers to each and every persona kind.”

Jitendra Punjabi, an target audience member and resident of Noida, who came together with his family to wait the play, mentioned, “I actually liked the comedian timing of the actors. The best possible part was that although it was an adaptation of a play set in a special technology, it was contemporarised so effectively that one could relate to its characters.”
