BELAGAVI: A brand new pill that may control dengue fever has been developed through the central government-owned Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) centre in Belagavi. The pill - a purely ayurvedic drug the usage of herbs - is being examined now and after the check report is out, the Food and Drug Control authority will take the final resolution.

This pill has been examined on some patients.

In 1958, the dengue virus was once present in Philippines. In India, this virus was once present in 1968. After 2000 dengue virus unfold hastily, the ICMR started a research on the pill.

The ICMR, which is underneath Ayurveda Ministry, with the help of different research centres managed to seek out the pill, made with some herbal vegetation.

These capsules have been examined on some dengue patients. Belagavi Medical Science, KLE College, Kolar Devaraja Medical College and B.M. Kankanawadi Ayurveda Medical College attempted these pill on dengue patients.

Before the pill, an Ayurveda drink (Kashaya) was once researched and used on some patients, but since it was once very bitter and confirmed past due effects, the ICMR attempted a brand new pill.

"There was a medicine for dengue. Now we have researched a capsule which has given some positive results. Once we get permission from the concerned department by October, we may start selling this capsule," stated S.L. Hoti, director of ICMR, Belagavi.
