Tirupur: A 35-year-old farmer attempted to devote suicide after the police allegedly attempted to grab pots and different articles used for illegal toddy tapping close to Palladam in Tirupur district on Wednesday.
He ate up pesticide and was once admitted to a personal clinic, the place his condition is alleged to be stable.
Mayilsamy alias Mahesh of Manjappur Road at Kamanaickenpalayam was once allegedly tapping toddy in his coconut farm. When a few policemen reached Mayilsamy’s farm and allegedly attempted to grab pots and different articles applied for the tapping on Wednesday morning, he ate up poison to stop their motion, mentioned a farmer.
On seeing it, the police went away and Mayilsamy was once rushed to the clinic in Palladam. tnn
