Mysuru: The city-based theatre repertory Rangayana will host Greeshma Rangotsava, a monthlong summer theatre pageant starting Saturday.
Greeshma Rangotsava is an annual theatre fest arranged through the repertory to commemorate senior theatre activist CG Krishnaswamy, popularly known as CGK.
The theatre pageant is geared toward offering a platform for newbie troupes from across Karnataka. As part of the fest, 10 performs might be staged each weekend through quite a lot of troupes.
The fest might be inaugurated through noted theatre artist director S Malathi Sagar at Vanaranga of Rangayana premises at 6.30pm. She might be joined through registrar of University of Mysore, D Bharati and director of Rangayana, Bhagirathi Bai Kadam.
Briefing the media, Bhagirathi Bai Kadam mentioned that CGK Amateur Theatre Festival will the remaining pageant for this monetary 12 months. “Most theatre groups from north Karnataka would never have staged a play in Mysuru or Bengaluru area.
