Head constable commits suicide inside police station in Raikot

LUDHIANA: A head constable died after he allegedly shot himself with his service weapon at City Raikot police station of Ludhiana rural police on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as 50-year-old Baljinder Singh of Bhundri village in Jagraon.


Police officers stated that Baljinder had taken his service weapon from Munshi on Thursday night after he joined duty. They added that Baljinder, who was dissatisfied on account of belongings dispute with father and brother shot himself with the same weapon in police station.


Cops stated that the severely injured Baljinder was rushed to a reputed non-public health center in Ludhiana the place he breathed his final on Thursday night. They added that police has recovered suicide word from the spot through which he has blamed his father and brother for taking excessive step.


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Investigation Jagraon, Amandeep Singh, who's holding additional rate of DSP Raikot, stated that they have got started investigation into the topic. He added that the police is recording the observation of two sons of the deceased and has recovered the suicide word and vital action beneath legislation will likely be taken into the topic.
