Illegal gutkha manufacturing unit case: M K Stalin warns Coimbatore superintendent of police

COIMBATORE: DMK running president M Ok Stalin on Friday warned Coimbatore superintendent of police Pa Moorthy of “serious motion” for slapping an unlawful gutkha production unit case on DMK functionaries. “Moorthy helps the AIADMK. When the DMK involves energy, Moorthy will face serious motion for this,” Stalin mentioned.

Addressing a protest in front of the south taluk office here, Stalin mentioned after the Madras high court docket ordered switch of the gutkha rip-off case to the CBI, the Coimbatore rural police busted an unlawful gutkha production unit at Kannampalayam near Sulur.

DMK functionaries asked the police officers to behavior a fair investigation to deliver out the reality. But the police registered a case in opposition to DMK functionaries, including DMK MLA N Karthick. They arrested seven DMK functionaries.

"Coimbatore SP Moorthy has been supporting the AIADMK ministers. He is trying to divert the illegal gutkha manufacturing unit case against the DMK. Earlier, he was working as the SP in Pudukkottai district and health minister C Vijaya Baskar also belongs to the same district. We have enough evidence to prove the links between Vijaya Baskar and Moorthy. The DMK will come to power soon and punish AIADMK leaders and police officials, including T K Rajendran (DGP) and retired IPS officer George," mentioned Stalin. Vijaya Baskar and Rajendran are suspected to have performed a task in the alleged gutkha rip-off.

Later, Stalin visited the Coimbatore Central Prison where he met the seven arrested DMK functionaries.
