Info officers urge new I&B minister to revoke transfer orders

NEW DELHI: The Indian Information Service Association is thinking about making a representation to I&B minister Rajyavardhan Rathore to seek a rollback of about 140 transfers that had been ordered via former minister Smriti Irani in February.
While a number of officials have in my view approached the minister to get their switch order revoked, assets mentioned the IIS Association is thinking about whether it will have to transfer the minister’s place of work on behalf of all officials. In February’s order, many officials nearing superannuation had been transferred.


After the bulk transfers, the IIS Group A Officers Association wrote to the Prime Minister for his intervention and mentioned the “morale of cadre officials was being affected because of the current switch coverage of the ministry”.


The letter additionally asked that “all transfers effected could also be duly reconsidered and further transfers be stopped”.
