Coimbatore: Even regardless that the agricultural native bodies regularised greater than 10,000 plots in the previous couple of months, the civic body has been piling up recordsdata delaying the approvals of unapproved individual plots. As per company officials, around 500 programs had been received to this point.
“We have received income of nearly Rs 3.5cr. We are in accordance approvals and feature received any other 1,500 programs. Applicants need to replenish challans and pay the due amount to get approval,” town planning officer Ravichandran said. However, he didn't reveal the choice of approvals given to this point.
Corporation commissioner Ok Vijayakarthikeyan said that he had prompt the officials to speed up the process and clear all the recordsdata quickly. The executive has determined to increase the deadline through six months.
The procedure was extremely sluggish in rural native bodies initially. However, special camps were held at various locations including Sulur, S S Kulam, Madhukkarai, Veerakerala, Periyanaickenpalayam and different blocks through which bank officials, panchayat officials came below one roof and approvals were accorded within hours.
As per the process, the applicant needs to sign up online through paying Rs 500 after which paying Rs 600 per sq.. Some officials said that since the fee was upper, many candidates had not on time bills.
But, activists said that even those that had paid the fee were not accorded approvals. Civic activist SP Thiyagarajan said that a number of applicants were looking ahead to months to get approval. “This scheme was brought to scale back the time and make it easy for public to get approval. But it is just making it tougher for the plot homeowners,” he said.
Sources said that even within the native bodies, a number of panchayat officials were not very serious about giving approvals and not on time the process. But, a number of camps were held in the previous couple of weeks due to the intervention of senior officials.
