MHRD seeks reply from Allahabad uni over 'negative' observations

ALLAHABAD: The ministry of human useful resource and development (MHRD) has sought detailed answer from the Allahabad University on the observations made by way of a six-member high-powered committee on its paintings culture.
The committee had visited the university campus in November ultimate yr for inspection.

The committee had pulled up the operating culture of AU, finding faults in nearly the entire amenities, from hostels, teaching, operating environment (of both teaching and non-teaching), degree of training, scarcity of teachers, self-discipline on the campus, political interference and inefficiency of the officers’ governing its administration.

The committee, while summarising its observations had stated, “The state of affairs in Allahabad University is deplorable in all educational, financial and administrative matters. University carries the baggage of its history and many of the problems are intractable. If the prevailing state of affairs steady, this university is bound to change into unviable and unworkable. MHRD might wish to consider suitable motion”.

The ministry has requested the university administration to take cognizance of the observations.

Commenting on the factor, AU’s PRO, Prof Harsh Kumar stated, “now when the ministry has requested us for the giving the reply on their observations, we'd follow the directions and submit our point-by-point answer within the stipulated time.”
