GURUGRAM: Councillor of ward number 34, R S Rathee, has alleged that MCG has deposited by way of “mistake”, Rs four.63 crore of the Rs 10.60 crore it has paid to the non-public agency it has employed for the city’s waste management, within the company’s escrow account.
Rathee alleged the stated amount was to be deposited within the escrow account of Eco Green Private Limited after MCG had signed an agreement with it to buy power. Eco Green is supposed to assemble garbage for 18 months to start with, after which it’s intended to begin producing power, when the company is supposed to barter modalities of buying power from it. Only then is the agreement intended to be signed.
MCG commissioner Yashpal Yadav stated Rathee demanded an inquiry. “MCG officers within the know stated the quantity will also be deposited within the escrow account, and the agency can withdraw from it on every occasion it faces a scarcity of budget. I’ve requested for an inquiry, and if it’s found the quantity was deposited ahead of time, it'll be adjusted against long run payments,” he added.
TOI has a duplicate of the transaction receipt, dated December 27, 2017. In general, the corporate has won Rs 10.60 crore between December 2017 and February 2018, with all transactions made throughout the tenure of the former commissioner V Umashankar.
As per the revised sanitation funds for 2018-19, the agency will be paid Rs 24 crore for garbage assortment, in comparison to Rs three crore it had won throughout the former 12 months. The sanitation funds, too, has been revised upwards, from Rs 15 crore to Rs 50 crore.
Rathee, who has been raking up the issue of the agency’s deficient efficiency, stated MCG has issued 25 notices to it on quite a lot of irregularities, together with irregular garbage assortment, deploying fewer group of workers, no longer putting in dustbins and deficient call centre response. “The agency didn’t trouble to answer all however four of the notices,” he stated.
