New city police station opens in Khanna

LUDHIANA: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Gurkirat Singh Kotli on Friday inaugurated the town’s new police station in Khanna, in conjunction with senior superintendent of police (SSP) Navjot Singh Mahal. Before the formal opening of the new police station-2, Sukhmani Sahib Path used to be organized there, through which the MLA, SSP, and different senior officials took phase. Later, addressing the collection, Kotli applauded the functioning of Khanna police for cracking down on criminals and unethical elements within the city.

He said Punjab Police had completed a significant success in eliminating gangsters and criminals within the state, in particular the gunning down of most wanted gangsters, and arrest of accused eager about killings. He particularly mentioned that SSP Mahal had taken the initiative to set up city police station-2, and despatched a suggestion to the federal government, which used to be unanimously accredited.


The MLA stated that with the starting of this new police station, other people within the southern side of the town will get advantages vastly, while the town police station-1 will facilitate citizens of other portions of the town. The SSP disclosed that the new police station would have a personnel of 41 staff, and 17 wards will come beneath its jurisdiction. Khanna city has 33 MC wards, and the remaining will probably be covered by the town police station-1.
