Kerala girl reunites with relatives after 2 years of captivity

Mangaluru: Almost a month after a girl from Kerala uploaded a video alleging that she was placed underneath house arrest by her mother for 2 years and locked up in Mangaluru, the 24-year-old has in spite of everything been set free, because of social media, the Mangaluru City police and the courtroom.

In a video that went viral since May 1, Kavitha alleged her mother had colluded with the Sangh Parivar and had got her locked in the house of an RSS chief in the city, as she didn't approve of her dating with a Muslim formative years named Manas.

Soon after the video went viral, the city police arrested the accused and registered an FIR on the Mangaluru City Women’s Police Station. The police then produced the woman and accused before the II CJM Court.


While the courtroom granted bail to the accused, it despatched the woman to a counselling centre in the city as the mum, who is an accused in the case, had furnished scientific certificate to the courtroom to turn the woman was mentally-challenged.


According to A Rajasimhan, the recommend representing the woman, she's going to meet chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and in addition DGP Lokanath Behera on Tuesday, and record a recent grievance towards her mother and other accused.


“She has sought an appointment with the CM and DGP. We will institute a recent grievance towards her mother, the mum’s paramour, a few members of the RSS and VHP and the physician and the health facility in Kerala, that connived with the mum to turn she was mentally-challenged, as well as towards her abductors,” Rajasimhan informed TOI.
