NOIDA: The Noida Crime Branch’s Special Operation Group (SOG) was dissolved after inner messages about alleged bribery and collections from native businessmen and buyers became public on Friday.
Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Ajay Pal Sharma dissolved the SOG and despatched 16 team of workers to police line with fast impact.
Sources said that some law enforcement officials within the Group had heated argument over distribution of money amassed from different assets. One of them despatched the checklist of ‘collections’ to the UP DGP, prompting an investigation into the topic.
The checklist, which quickly went viral on WhatsApp groups, mentions monthly collections ranging Rs 3000-Rs 10,000 from different gasoline stations, cement producers, resort and eating place homeowners, builders, and so forth.
The checklist also mentions money distributions amongst inspectors, law enforcement officials and also used to buy guns and air fare for SOG groups for operation in Bihar.
SSP Sharma said that the SOG unit has been dissolved and the accused team of workers had been hooked up to police line. “An inquiry headed via SP City Noida has been launched into the topic,” he said.
