Sri Jayadev Rastriya Samaroh – a 5 day lengthy classical dance pageant - is on at Bhanjakala Mandap where dancers from different portions of the country in addition to in a foreign country had been appearing. The pageant goals at celebrating ‘Gita Govinda’, written through 12 th century poet Jayadev, with all classical dance forms in India. Organised through National Culture Mission, in affiliation with the dep. of tradition, the pageant will end on Thursday. The pageant provides opportunity for young and new talents to perform all the way through the day and famend artistes in the night.

Anindita Neogy Anaam, Kathak dancer from Marinette, Wiacconsin, USA got the Sri Jayadev Ratsriya Yuva Purskar, often referred to as Sri Jayadev National Youth Award in this occasion. “It is a smart platform for young and gifted dancers to perform together with mavens in front of a keen audience. I've come from the US to perform here and I am satisfied to show my Kathak dancing abilities at the pageant,” said the danseuse.
