Mysuru: Condemning police brutality in Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu, where a minimum of 11 protesters, agitating towards a sterlite plant, were killed in police firing, contributors of Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India (CPI), and Socialist Unity Centre of India staged a protest here on Thursday.
Dubbing the police action towards the protesters ‘deplorable’, the activists stated, “Vedanta Multinational Corporation has been harming the surroundings in Tamil Nadu for over 25 years.”
Demanding the corporate’s closure, the protesters stated, “The corporate used to be fined by means of the Supreme Court for liberating poisonous gases. People within the region are struggling more than a few illnesses owing to this. It is time the Tamil Nadu govt shut the corporate.”
