NOIDA:Seven persons have been arrested 55 cartons of unlawful liquor have been seized from their Toyota Innova on Sunday. The accused have been recognized as Sahil, Manoj, Sanjay, Ajay, Vikas, Kuldeep and Amit Kumar, all citizens of Sonipat in Haryana.
Manish Saxena, SHO, Surajpur police station, mentioned they received details about movement of liquor smugglers in Noida. “We deployed a group near Chilla border on Sunday morning. Some suspects in an Innova reached the spot. The police signalled them to prevent for checking however they attempted to hurry away,” Saxena mentioned.
The police chased the criminals and compelled them to prevent. The accused failed to supply registration papers of the automobile and so they have been taken for wondering. The police scanned the automobile and found 55 cartons of unlawful liquor from the rear seat of the SUV.
The accused mentioned they bought liquor from Haryana at affordable charges and offered them to unscrupulous consumers in Noida and Greater Noida.
Police registered a case underneath phase 482 of IPC and in addition underneath Excise Act. “They have been produced in courtroom and despatched to judicial custody,” Saxena mentioned.
