BENGALURU: A woman, 44, who was being burdened through a stalker challenging intercourse—he even offered her Rs 2 lakh for it—laid a lure and handed him over to police with the assistance of her relatives. The man is now cooling his heels in Central Prison(Parappana Agrahara).
Ramanna, 35, a resident of BK Nagar in Yeshwantpur, and an accountant at APMC yard, were stalking the lady for the previous few months. “She didn’t even know that he had taken a liking to her,” police said.
Having amassed her number a few weeks in the past, Ramanna referred to as her on April 30. “He began telling her how beautiful she was and how much he preferred her. The lady did not encourage him and disconnected the call,” police said.
On the same day, he referred to as her once more and requested her to have intercourse with him. When the lady warned him, he offered money.
“He had offered to pay her Rs 2 lakh if she agreed to have intercourse with him,” police said, including that he had no longer printed his id during the calls.
The lady, suspecting that the person would possibly continue to harass her, pretended to have an interest when he referred to as once more. She told him that she was willing to meet him if he paid Rs 2 lakh and requested him where to return.
A thrilled Ramanna invited her to a school in BK Nagar at 2pm on May 1. The lady, who had knowledgeable her relatives in regards to the stalker, told them to cover around the faculty.
“Ramanna arrived at the spot and located the lady standing on my own. As he walked closer she recognised him, as he lived on the same boulevard as hers but didn’t suspect that he was her stalker. However, he offered himself and said it was him who referred to as her,” police said.
Soon after his id was recognized, the lady slapped him two times, following which her relatives gathered round and thrashed him. They then took him to Yeswantpur police station.
A case underneath IPC sections 354 (sexual harassment) and 509 (gesture or act meant to insult the modesty of lady) was filed. Ramanna is in judicial custody now.
