BENGALURU: A 36-year-old software engineer used to be kidnapped, stored captive for 12 hours and released best after he paid his five abductors Rs 17.five lakh which he organized through calling on his pals. The abductors also drove away with the auto he used to be riding after forcibly obtaining his signature on possession exchange paperwork.
Jita Mitra, from Andhra Pradesh, revealed his abductors had threatened him with a knife all through the ordeal which began at around 7.30pm on Thursday and that he even suffered knife injuries to his left hand. In his complaint to the Hebbal police, Mitra, who works for a non-public company out of its Manyata Tech Park workplace, said he used to be riding back to his place of dwelling in Anand Nagar, Hebbal, east Bengaluru when he used to be accosted and kidnapped.
Police have registered a complaint and feature shaped a workforce to nab the abductors.
Mitra told police he used to be approaching 5th Main close to Atria College in Anand Nagar when some other automotive rammed into his. Five other people alighted from the other vehicle and they demanded that he pay them Rs 1,000 to fix their automotive.
When Mitra refused to pay since the fault wasn’t his, the boys bundled him into their automotive and drove in opposition to the Hebbal flyover, forsaking Mitra’s automotive — of Hyundai make, which he had locked — at the spot.
“They later admitted that I used to be not at fault for the twist of fate and that they had kidnapped me for ransom,” Mitra says. He claims the boys drove around in circles for the remainder of the evening whilst they forced him to organize for the cash they demanded.
“They asked me to name my pals for help,” he said. “They refused to offer me the phone till I told them who I used to be calling.” After he satisfied the crowd that he wasn’t calling the police, Mitra used to be allowed to name his shut pals Wasim and Prabhu.
In his complaint, Mitra said Wasim delivered Rs 8.five lakh at a meeting point close to Mehkri Circle around 11.30pm and, after the crowd demanded more, handed over some other Rs 2.five lakh at a rendezvous in Jayamahal. Meanwhile, Prabhu had organized Rs 6.five lakh which he gave to the crowd around 8am on Friday.
Mitra said the crowd let him out of their automotive at Mehkri Circle, with regards to Hebbal, in a while later, however best when they forced him to sign paperwork to switch possession his automotive.
