Mangaluru: Three children of a circle of relatives hailing from Gurpur drowned in a pond in Goa whilst their oldsters have been fascinated by prayers at a temple.
The deceased are Aditi, 12, Bhuvan, 8 and Shravan, 7. The elders learnt concerning the tragedy only when they completed the rituals and got here out of the temple.
Aditi and Bhuvan have been siblings and kids of Venkatesh Bhat and Preetham Bhat. Shravan, their cousin, used to be the son of Priyanka Bhat, Preetham’s sister. Their bodies have been recovered on Thursday.
After performing some non secular rituals in Gurpur, the family members had on Tuesday visited Nagueshi temple at Ponda in Goa. Realising that the youngsters may just project into the large pond close to the temple, the oldsters had cautioned them towards getting into it. However, on seeing some local children play in the pond, the 3 children too stepped into the water. However, they have been unable to gauge the depth of the pond and they didn't know swimming. Moreover, they didn't know the local language on account of which they did not be in contact with the locals. Hence, they drowned and died.
Though a seek operation used to be introduced, their bodies have been recovered only on Thursday morning. After autopsy, the oldsters finished the closing rites in Goa itself.
