Trader's body found in train's toilet

KANPUR: Highly decomposed frame of a 48-year-old city businessman, who went missing while going to Agra via Patna-Kota Express train on May 24, used to be found in the bathroom of the train when it reached Rajendra Nagar terminus in Patna from Kota on Sunday.
Sanjay Agarwal, who used to be into inverter trade, lived in Anandpuri locality in Juhi area of the city at the side of his family. He had boarded the train at around 6.34 am on May 24 from Kanpur Central railway station to visit Agra. He remained involved along with his spouse Deepali on telephone until 8 am and apprised her in regards to the train's location in Phafoond (Auraiya), a GRP reputable said.

He added that when that his telephone switched off and when he did not contact his family members until late night time, they lodged a missing grievance with GRP Kanpur Central. The family members and friends also circulated his picture on WhatsApp with an appeal to search for him.


On Sunday, his frame used to be discovered mendacity inside the bathroom of Kota-Patna Express at Rajendra Nagar Terminus in Patna in a highly decomposed state. The GRP shifted the frame to morgue and informed his family after figuring out him on the basis of papers he used to be wearing. His family members rushed to Patna.


"Going by the post-mortem report, the trader suffered cardiac arrest and died," said GRP inspector Ram Mohan Rai.


Padam Aagrwal, brother-in-law of Sanjay, said: "It's painful that his body remained in the train's toilet for days and none came across it. It only reflects the functioning of GRP and RPF, besides railway authorities."
