Whirlwind kills toddler in TN village

DHARMAPURI: An 11-month-old child lady, who was once sleeping in a cradle in her house close to Karimangalam in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu, died after being carried via a whirlwind on Wednesday night.
The infant has been identified as Ok Vaishnavi, daughter of Kumar and Saliyammal of Poolapatty.

Police said the couple were dwelling in an asbestos roofed space. There was once a heavy whirlwind within the village around 11pm on Wednesday night.


The infant was once sleeping in a fabric cradle which was once attached to a hook used for asbestos roofing. The whirlwind dislodged the asbestos sheets. They fell at the floor outdoor the house along side cradle and the infant.


The couple rushed the infant to Government Hospital in Karimangalam where doctors declared her brought useless.


The Karimangalam police registered a case.
