Mangaluru: After Mangaluru used to be adjudged as India’s highest town in cast waste management (SWM), the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has plans to concentrate more on the Swachh Mangaluru idea.
Mayor Okay Bhaskar Moily informed TOI that the town corporation will give more emphasis on swachhata campaigns and thereby make Mangaluru India’s cleanest town. “I congratulate all our civic staff, contractors, officials and general public for extending cooperation to make the town’s cast waste management the most productive in the nation. We will put more emphasis on the swachhata abhiyan in the days to return. Our intention is to make Mangaluru the cleanest town,” he stated.
He added that a discussion on this regard will be held in the town corporation council meet, which will be held in the second one week of June.
MCC atmosphere engineer Madhu S Manohar stated the town corporation has not yet gained verbal exchange with regard to the award rite from the Union ministry of housing and concrete affairs (MoHUA).
