BALASORE: A woman was forced to give start a baby in culvert after her house was destroyed via an elephant herd six months in the past in Sarubila village below Sukruli block in Mayurbhanj district on May 3.
According to sources, a herd of elephant destroyed the house of Pramila Tiria, wife of Manglu Tiria, about six months ahead of. Later he constructed a short lived thatched house at there and used to stay over there. But the house was once more harm because of Norwester (Kalabaisakhi) rains.
Without getting the aid of Government government, Pregnant Pramila was staying below a tree in the day time and spent evening in a culvert within reach her house with her husband and 6 children.
A homeless and helpless Pramila delivered her baby on Thursday below most damaging stipulations, in the culvert. Pramila didn't avail any of the schemes such as the Anganwadi or the Asha Didi.
“Over the final six months, me and my husband had approached wooded area officers and Government government in the district, but failed to get any assistance” alleged Pramila Tiria.
“No one got here to us to give a helping hand once we have been in misery condition. No one has given refuge even after my delivery “she added.
After the incident got here to gentle, Dakhina Ranjan Tudu, a health care provider from Raruan community health centres (CHC) were given the mother and the child admitted in the sanatorium on Tuesday. “Now the health condition of mom and baby is excellent, said Dr Dakhina Ranjan Tudu.
Sarina Hamran, a Zila Parishad member alleged that, "One mother had to give birth in a culvert, she has no shelter, and she is homeless. She never got any assistance from the government, in spite of so many schemes in place"
Additional District Magistrate Mayurbhanj Gangadhar Nayak conceded that this type of unlucky incident had happened. “We will read about whose lapses resulted in the unfortunate incident and attach accountability. The wooded area division officers why the house harm via elephant was no compensated up to now. We will rehabilitate the circle of relatives," he added. (Kishan Sahu)
