Mangaluru: A five-year-old girl died after she accidentally fell from the 8th ground of an condo at Shaktinagar right here on Wednesday night time.
Shannel Jenisia D’Souza used to be the daughter of Wilson Sebastian and Alitha D’Souza. While her father labored in Sharjah, the girl used to be staying with her mom within the condo.
As the district administration had declared a holiday for tutorial institutions on account of torrential rain within the district, Shannel used to be at home. Around eight.45am, she went to the balcony which had no protection grills and climbed the slider window and peeped down. She slipped when she lost balance and fell to the second one ground, where a verandah used to be being constructed. She suffered severe head injuries and used to be rushed to a personal hospital. She used to be declared dead within the night as she didn't reply to treatment.
Shannel had celebrated her fifth birthday in December. Police mentioned Apartment No. 805, where the girl stayed, were rented out by Veena Elisa Saldanha, who stayed in an adjoining condo. They filed a grievance under Indian Penal Code Section 304(a) (whoever causes the loss of life of somebody by doing any rash or negligent act now not amounting to culpable homicide) towards the condo proprietor for now not adhering to safety measures.
A case used to be registered at Mangaluru Town police station.
