500 issued challans in two days for wrongside driving

Ghaziabad: The visitors police have launched a distinct force towards wrongside driving in the town and has issued challans to nearly 500 violators previously two days. Notably, as compared to the past two days’ force, the visitors law enforcement officials have issued only 578 challans for wrongside driving between January and May this 12 months.
TOI ran a campaign towards wrongside driving final month and highlighted the foremost spots where this risk is rampant. SSP Vaibhav Krishna had mentioned that the dep. was in the process to increase the number of team of workers in the visitors wing and changes would be visual in the coming days. “The assets are meagre at this time but we're seeking to enhance it. It isn't that law enforcement officials are incapable. In the absence of law enforcement officials, commuters take advantage and move on wrongside, regardless of understanding that it's fairly unhealthy,” Krishna had informed TOI.

This week, the strength of visitors police team of workers has been increased from 160 to 290. The number of visitors constable has gone up to 190, visitors inspector to 5, visitors sub-inspector to 20 and visitors head constable to 72. Moreover, there are two visitors circle officers and one superintendent of police.

SP (visitors) S N Singh mentioned, “The complete district has been divided into 20 sectors, each and every headed by way of a visitors sub-inspector. Earlier, because of the dearth of law enforcement officials, one TSI used to man only one primary crossing of the town, but now each and every TSI is managing a bigger stretch. Of the entire visitors violations, we now have curious about wrongside driving so much which is fairly prevalent in the town. All primary crossings on GT street, NH-24 and Mohan Nagar street are being covered beneath the force.”

Some of the foremost sectors are UP Gate to Chhajarsi, Chhajarsi crossing, Chhajarsi to Lal Quan, Vaishali to Mohan Nagar, Mohan Nagar crossing and Meerut trisection to Old bus stand among others.

Offenders are being challaned beneath Section 184 (driving dangerously) of the Motor Vehicles Act and fined Rs 1,000 for this actual violation.

There is infrequently any street in the town where driving at the wrongside isn't prevalent. Commuters coming from Navyug marketplace and going in opposition to old bus stand trip at the flawed side in entrance of GDA office. Likewise, a large number of people could be noticed going at the wrongside of GT street to hide the distance from Islam Nagar to Kaila Bhatta. Another such stretch is Meerut street trisection where commuters driving from Hindon Vihar move in the flawed route in opposition to new bus stand. Those travelling from Nandgram lower also flout the guideline. Wrongside driving is also rampant at the street in entrance of ALT Centre.

People even don't spare flyovers and railway overbridges to chop short their distances. An example of this will also be noticed in Raj Nagar where people ply at the flawed route to transport in opposition to Sanjay Nagar block A and Raj Nagar.
