Bank executive held over indecent proposal

MUMBAI: A 32-year-old guy employed with a non-public financial institution has been arrested for allegedly threatening to throw acid on a feminine colleague’s face. The guy, Abhijit Bachelal Singh, a sales govt, was once besotted with the woman and had proposed to her, but she had became down the proposal.

Spurned, Singh sought after to get even with the woman, police said. An officer said that the woman started receiving threat calls and letters on the place of job around February. “The caller [Singh] demanded that she cough up Rs 15 lakh, failing which he threatened to fling acid at her and her mother,” said the officer. “The calls traumatised her to such an extent that she stopped leaving her house and, for some time, even stopped attending place of work.”

The police said that most of the calls had been made out of public telephones. “Singh used to position a kerchief on the mouthpiece so that his voice would now not be recognised,” said the officer.


Senior inspector Sunil Jadhav said that throughout one such call, Singh threatened the woman that he would malign her recognition by means of morphing nude photos along with her face.


After the woman approached the police, crime department officers known the accused by means of using technical improve. After conserving tabs on him for a month, the officers zeroed in on Singh who has confessed to having threatened the complainant, the police said.


Deputy commissioner of police Nisar Tamboli said, “Singh had felt extraordinarily insulted for the reason that girl had rejected his proposal. He has admitted he was once not able to take care of the rejection.”


Singh, who has been charged with outraging a lady’s modesty, is slated to be produced in courtroom on Tuesday.
