Coimbatore: The syndicate of the Bharathiar University has determined to challenge the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) round that universities with a National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) cumulative grade level reasonable (CGPA) below three.26 can not run distance training courses. The syndicate meeting of the college used to be hung on Monday, headed by means of the secretary of higher training and the head of the college's convener committee Sunil Paliwal.
A source from the college syndicate said Bharathiar University, which has been ranked the top arts and science college in the state, is being requested to not habits distance training according to mere NAAC ranking. “This used to be already mentioned in the meeting held in Chennai on June 11. The UGC’s round used to be given all at once without prior intimation,” the source said and added that the college would challenge the round in the Madras prime court.
The college, which has NAAC ranking of only three.11, had already written to the UGC in quest of to relax the norms and allow state universities with a NAAC ranking of above three to habits distance training programmes.
Meanwhile, the college had known as for expression of interest from non-public colleges to behave as learner enhance centres (LSC) for its distance training courses. Monday used to be the closing day for the universities to express interest. “Around 20 colleges had expressed interest to behave as LSCs,” said the source.
As the constituent colleges below the college were converted to govt colleges, the 21 educating body of workers contributors of the college who work in these colleges would continue working there in deputation, the source said. “If vacancies get up in the college, they're going to be known as back to work in the college,” the source said and added that until that they might be paid by means of the state govt.
