LUDHIANA: Gautam Sharma, secretary of the Economic and Political Planning Cell of Congress - with the help of Mukhtar Ansari, owner of Ruby Bakery - celebrated Eid with kids of Grow Up School for Divyang (kids with special wishes), Shimlapuri, on Saturday. "We other folks spend lakhs of rupees on rituals and marriages. But it is our excellent deeds that may really be remembered after our demise.
No one will ask us in regards to the cash spent on marriages. There should be a joint effort from all other folks to uplift such kids, as they're naturally challenged," stated Sharma. When asked about his different plans, Gautam answered, "We are making plans to adopt one of the vital children, and can take responsibility for his/her treatment in addition to training.
Also, we will be able to provide meals and drinks day by day to the school." Manpreet Kaur, founder of the school, stated, "I took this initiative of opening the school nine months ago, as I wanted to do something like this from my childhood. Here, we educate these children free of cost, and right now, we have 15 children with us who are handicapped and mentally ill. I felt very happy as these people thought about our children. We actually need such people if we really want to develop our country. According to me, these children are not less than anyone, as they just need our love and affection."
